I hope you have enjoyed visiting our new Sauter Website. Helping develop this site was indeed an act of love for me, as I have been in love with Sauter pianos since I first had the opportunity to “get my hands on the keyboard” in Spaichingen, Germany, in 2009. At that time, Basilios (CEO) asked if I would be interested in representing the brand, to which I of course answered “yes.” But you don’t just get the position that easily! I flew to the factory, and for several days had the opportunity to see first- hand how the pianos are made. Mr. Schnitzer, Head of Piano Production, answered my many questions and provided a great deal of specific information. I think he was a bit surprised with my technical knowledge, but as someone whose formal education is in the sciences, I’ve always been very interested in the “nuts and bolts” of piano building. I’m glad that I took copious notes, because before I left, Mr. Hott presented me with a written test of my knowledge! So, I was approved and seriously undertook my position to represent Sauter pianos.
Those of you who are familiar with these wonderful pianos already know the beautiful tone, responsive touch, exquisite cabinetry and magic that you feel and hear with these top tier instruments. Someone in the piano industry referred to Sauter as the “Sleeping Giant” in North America. It has not been as aggressively marketed as some better known brands. It’s like a very fine watch: the best known name might not be the best watch! Not many know the rich history of Sauter, going all the way back to the beginning of the piano-forte! What’s even more amazing is that Sauter is still 100% German with no compromise, and all the components are just as always, European.
You can see that our artists include classical, jazz, and popular genres of music. The palate of colors available to the musician at the Sauter keyboard is infinite. We have Sauter pianos in Institutions and Concert Halls worldwide.
If you’re looking for the ultimate piano to fall in love with, I encourage you to meet a Sauter!
